Tips
Roll-Line 13mm Click-Action King Pins feature a 13mm deep socket and thread designed to screw into a Roll-Line Skate Plate labeled "04," indicating skates manufactured after 2004. During installation or replacement, a 16mm, two-sided flat wrench is required.
We recommend using a King Pin Removal Tool, otherwise removing the king pin can be extremely challenging and may damage or destroy the wrench flats. The king pins are initially installed with BLUE Removable Loctite to ensure they stay securely locked into the Skate Plate. When installing new king pins, it is essential to ALWAYS use BLUE Removable Loctite.
Roll-Line 13mm Click-Action King Pins are engineered to bend before breaking, making them resistant to breakage. The usual reasons for king pins needing replacement include:
Improperly Adjusted Pivot Pins: If Pivot Pins are improperly adjusted, allowing excessive movement up and down or side to side in the socket, it can put an extraordinary amount of stress on the kingpins.
Stripped Adjusting Threads: This typically occurs when the King Pin Locking Keeper Screw is loosened, and the Adjusting Click Nut is run on the very last thread or two. Ensuring the correct hardness Suspensions are used for your application, as detailed in Suspension Cushion information, can help prevent this issue.
