Roll-Line Pivot Pin Cups in Delrin are meticulously engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of high-level competitive skating. These cups are press-fit into the Roll-Line Skate Frame, with two (2) needed for each frame (one for the front truck and one for the rear truck pivot pin sockets), totaling four (4) for each pair of Roll-Line Skate Frames.

It is crucial to note that movement of the Pivot Pin in the Pivot Pin Cup can wear out the cup. If these cups become damaged due to improperly adjusted Pivot Pins, it is recommended to replace them.

A properly adjusted Pivot Pin is critical for optimal skate performance, and the Pivot Pin Jam Nut is what locks the Pivot Pin into place. The "Adjustable" Pivot Pin allows the truck to operate at its optimum angles, providing the best action with variations in cushion tensions.

The Pivot Pin and Pivot Pin Jam Nuts must be kept absolutely and completely tight. Initially installed with BLUE Removable Lock-Tight, while it's possible to loosen them with significant effort, maintaining the proper adjustment is necessary for effective performance.

How to adjust

  1. Ensure the Pivot Pin is fully seated into the bottom of the Pivot Pin Cup, exhibiting no side-to-side or up-and-down movement in the cup.

  2. Avoid running the Pivot Pin out too far or lengthening it excessively, as this may exert pressure on the Pivot Pin Cup, suspensions (cushions), and the King Pin, potentially changing the Angle of Action. Striking the right balance is crucial.

  3. Once the Pivot Pin is correctly positioned, hold that position with a 6mm wrench. Using a 13mm wrench, tighten the Pivot Pin Jam Nuts against the shoulder on the truck. This should be done tightly. Remember to hold the Pivot Pin in the correct position with the 6mm wrench, as it may tend to rotate during the tightening of the Pivot Pin Jam Nut.

  4. The Pivot Pin is harder and much stronger than the aluminum truck's internal threads. If the Pivot Pin is allowed to be loose (with the Pivot Pin Jam Nut not tightened), it may damage the threads of the aluminum truck over time. If this occurs, replacing the truck with an axle assembly is necessary.

We recommend checking the Pivot Pins once a week, emphasizing that the Pivot Pin and its proper adjustment are crucial for the performance of your Roll-Line Skate. Regular adjustment or maintenance by a qualified skate technician is advised.
